I live in Balgownie and needed a tree stump removed. I found Southside Stump Grinding's contact details on a Poster near our house so I rang for a quote. Luke was very friendly and responded the same day for a quote. His pricing was very good and gave me a time in the next week to come and remove it. He rang when he said he would on the day and he came and removed the stump. He cleaned up after himself and left the garden looking very nice. I contacted Luke on New Years Day, requesting a quote for stump grinding a Norfolk Island Pine tree and two other smaller stumps in our front yard in Dapto. The Norfolk Island pine stump stretched just under a metre wide and had extensive roots all over the front yard, including large roots enclosing the water metre. Luke was prompt and professional, fitting us in 2 days after initial contact. Luke was clear about what he could do, providing reassurance and guidance on what to do regarding the large roots encasing the water metre. I highly recommend Luke from Southside Stump Grinding. (First seven photos are before, last six photos are after). Where I had to chase up quotes from some other businesses, Luke was prompt with his quote and it was highly competitive. He was very clear in what the quote included, and what were the trickier parts of the job. He was considerate of our tenants when doing the job, cleaning up after himself and returning the yard to how it was, even replacing all the sandstone rocks that bordered the garden to their original position. There was no dirt splatter all over the fences etc. as he used protective sheets of ply throughout the job. I was very happy with Southside Stump Grinding.

Luke did a great job cutting through a stump and large roots to let me install a stormwater pipe at our place in Koonawarra. His hand held machine got through the tight access and was able to cut down to the 600mm depth of the trench. Luke dug out the chip to make sure he’d got everything down to the right depth before he left. He let me know when he’d arrive for both the quote and the job and was here when he said he would be. Last week Luke attended my mums property to remove 4 tree stumps that were considered a pool compliance issues. 2 of the 4 stumps were in a tricky spot in a pool retaining wall. This was no problem for Luke and he successfully got them out. Luke also helped us set up a tarp over the pool to protect it and then he went above and beyond getting the area cleaned up.

One stump had to be removed manually as well as taking down and putting back the retaining wall. There is NO WAY I thought he was going to get the through the 30+ stumps we had that were in tricky rocky ground. Busting teeth on the grinder Luke was fully prepared and took everything in his stride. You will not find a better operator to deal with your stumps…..however large or tricky.

What a fantastic service! We had a tree cut down a while back at our place near Wollongong and kept forgetting to finish the job by removing the stump. We're in South Cronulla. We had long line of feral bamboo that ran along the side of the boundary fence in the back yard for 15 metres. The bamboo was sitting on top of a concrete footing right up against the fence. Luke was able to stump grind nearly all of the bamboo right to the concrete and into some tight spaces. Luke was on time, he explained every step of the process and left minimal mess. The price was super competitive to other quotes we received. Luke was a pro.

Great experience getting about 12 big yucca stumps removed in Balgownie. Luke stopped by right after we contacted to check out the job and came soon after we told him it was time. His equipment was well maintained, had good safety standards and was very effective. The job was completed fairly quickly, but most importantly, to a high standard.
